John specialises in advising private equity, hedge-fund and other alternative investment managers (and their respective onshore counsel) across the full life-cycle of their fund structures. This includes formation/structuring, investments and co-investments, restructurings, disposals and eventual wind-down.
He is a member of our Global Corporate and Investment Funds Groups based in the Hong Kong office, and has over 15 years’ investment funds and corporate experience.
John also provides general advice on corporate governance and regulatory compliance and has broad experience across a wide range of general corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. His clients come from across the region including Hong Kong, China, Korea and Singapore as well as North America and Europe.
Experience and recent work
Before joining Walkers in 2016, John trained and qualified at Slaughter and May where he had experience working for clients on a broad range of corporate, financing and regulatory matters including public and private mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, acquisition financings and equity/debt capital markets transactions. John has also worked in-house at a leading financial services institution.
