Michael specialises in advising private equity, venture capital and hedge fund managers on a spectrum of legal issues in the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands through the use of companies, partnerships and trusts.
Michael's corporate practice involves regularly advising various private equity and public company clients across the APAC region with respect to mergers, acquisitions and disposals, equity capital raisings, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, US IPOs, SPACs, de-SPACs and general governance matters.
In addition, Michael's active funds practice involves advising private equity, venture capital and hedge fund managers on matters including the establishment, operation and restructuring of open-ended and closed-ended funds across a range of asset classes.
Michael is a member of our Corporate & Investment Funds Group.

Experience and recent work
Prior to joining Walkers in 2018, Michael worked as an associate in the private equity and corporate team at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in London where he specialised in private equity transactions, acting on acquisitions, disposals and joint venture arrangements for investment firms and general corporate matters for portfolio companies. Michael completed his professional training at Slaughter and May in London and thereafter joined their corporate group as an associate, where he advised on cross-border public/private M&A, commercial transactions and corporate advisory work.
