Re Genting Hong Kong Limited – acting for the Joint Provisional Liquidators of a major cruise-liner business and its subsidiary, Dream Cruises Holding Limited.
Re Agritrade Resources Limited [2020] SC (Bda) 28 Com – acted for the JPLs of the company in relation to the winding up of a publicly-traded investment holding company.
Re Stanley Gibbons (Guernsey Limited) – acted for the administrators of the Guernsey-incorporated investment company of Stanley Gibbons.
Investec Trust (Guernsey) Limited and another v Glenalla and others – acted for the joint liquidators of the Tchenguiz Discretionary Trust on various aspects of the so-called 'Tchenguiz Litigation', including ancillary and interlocutory applications.
Trusts Disputes
In the matter of the “R” Trusts (Rothschild Switzerland (CI) Trustees Limited & Ors v W & Ors) – acted for various beneficiaries of high-value Guernsey discretionary trusts in successfully defending an application relating to the admissibility of without prejudice material in a Public Trustee v Cooper application.
Wong v Grand View PTC Limited et al [2022] SC (Bda) 44 Com – acted for defendant / co-claimant in a long running trusts dispute valued at around USD $20bn, which went to a 5-month virtual trial in 2021
Wang v Grand View Private Trust Company Limited [2021] SC (Bda) 46 Com – acted for defendant / co-plaintiff in relation to an application surrounding the principles governing the Court's exercise of discretion to permit witness statements of an important witness to be admitted in evidence without cross-examination.
Wong v Grand View PTC Limited et al [2022] SC (Bda) 22 Com / Wang v Grand View Private Trust Company Limited (Civil Appeal No.4 of 2021) - Acted for the applicant / appellant in an application to rely on a witness statement alleging misconduct by other defendants in obtaining evidence from a third party witness (on basis of iniquity exception), and an application for interrogatories.
Wang v Grand View Private Trust Company Limited (Civil Appeal No.1 of 2021) – successfully acting for the appellant in an application for specific disclosure based on principles relating to joint interest privilege in a power of attorney.
Wang v Grand View Private Trust Company Limited [2021] SC (Bda) 32 Com – acting for defendant / co-plaintiff in seeking directions regarding open justice in the context of a remote hearing during the pandemic.
