Walkers' London office is delighted to welcome Alexandra Simpson on board as a senior counsel in the firm's market-leading Bermuda, BVI and Cayman law banking and finance practice based in London.
Alexandra has over 15 years’ experience, having previously been based in the Cayman Islands for ten years at another major offshore law firm. Her expertise includes fund finance, asset finance and general secured lending.
She has advised financiers and owners on international asset and structured finance transactions and has advised on a broad range of fund finance products including subscription line, Net Asset Value (NAV), hybrid and general partner support facilities. Alexandra is returning to London where she began her legal career.
Mark Galazzi, London-based Banking & Finance partner said: “It’s fantastic to have a lawyer with Alexandra’s deep experience join the Banking & Finance team. Walkers is the largest offshore firm in the City, and Alexandra’s addition to the team will further consolidate our pre-eminent position as the leading firm for investment hub jurisdictions in the London market.”
Cayman Islands-based Finance partner Hugh Anderson commented: “Alexandra built her career to become one of the pre-eminent banking and finance lawyers in Cayman and it’s wonderful to see that she will be joining our top-tier finance practice in London. She is well-known and highly regarded in the fund finance space; her joining the London team reaffirms our top-tier recognition in the market.”
The news comes as the London team retained their standing as the sole practice ranked Tier 1 across all ranked practice areas for Bermuda, BVI and Cayman law in the latest Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 guides.
Walkers’ Banking & Finance team in London continues to enjoy rapid growth, offering EMEA-based clients the benefits of accessing top-tier advice in their own time zone from one of the world’s largest financial hubs.
