Walkers' Global Asset Finance team are very pleased to have provided legal and fiduciary services in the Cayman Islands and Ireland on a significant senior debt facility exceeding $100 million provided by Investec to an entity serviced by Airborne Capital.
The facility is secured by a portfolio of five modern narrowbody aircraft, with each aircraft having a different lessee, including a mix of flag carriers and low-cost carriers, and is designed to accommodate diverse lease arrangements.
Instructing Walkers in the Cayman Islands and Ireland for legal and fiduciary services was a statement of confidence in our ability to assist on significant multi-jurisdictional transactions for our clients, providing pragmatic and efficient advice. The transaction also highlights the continued strength and demand for debt within the aviation sector.
Partners Sarah Humpleby (Cayman Islands) and Killian McSharry (Ireland) led the Walkers legal team with support from senior counsel Terry-Ann Arch and associate Sam Buchan in the Cayman Islands and of Counsel Elliot Milton, associates Diana Pacheco and Ed Butler in Ireland. The Walkers Professional Services team was led by Fiona de Lacy (Managing Director, WPS Ireland) and Gennie Bigord (SVP, Walkers Fiduciary, Cayman Islands) with support from Linval Stewart (Cayman Islands) and Brendan McCauley (Ireland).
