Patrick specialises in British Virgin Islands, Bermuda and Cayman Islands corporate and finance advice for clients in Europe.
Patrick has particular experience and expertise in the following areas:
- Corporate: equity capital markets, including initial public offerings (IPOs) and special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), mergers and acquisitions, advising on take-private transactions, business combinations, de-SPACs and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, mergers, continuations and migrations between jurisdictions and corporate group reorganisations, acquisitions and changes of control of regulated British Virgin Islands businesses, forming and structuring limited partnerships, and incorporations
- Finance: fund finance, real-estate finance, acquisition finance, energy and natural resource finance and project finance
- Restructuring: enforcement of security, loan to own transactions, distressed lending and equity and debt restructurings involving Bermuda, BVI and Cayman Islands entities
- Fintech: deFi structures, token issuances and regulatory considerations.

Experience and recent work
Patrick trained and worked as a banking and finance lawyer in London with Macfarlanes where he worked for 8 years before moving offshore in 2012. He was the Managing Partner of our British Virgin Islands office from 2018 to 2020 before relocating to London.
