The firm has leased the 11th floor of The Scalpel, 52 Lime Street, EC3 as its new London base, growing its footprint in the heart of the City.
Jack Boldarin, Walkers' office managing partner for London, said: "We've more than trebled the size of our London team to 160 in recent years. We wanted a dynamic and welcoming new space that reflects who we are and that supports our agile working arrangements. The new offices in The Scalpel provide a versatile environment for our teams to work, collaborate and connect with each other and with clients.
"London is an important hub for our global firm and this new office represents a significant investment in our future. I look forward to bringing together our London team in The Scalpel and to welcoming clients and Walkers colleagues from across our network."
Walkers provides legal and professional advice and services to the world's leading financial institutions and companies on the jurisdictions of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Ireland and Jersey. The firm has a global presence across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia that also includes offices in London, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore. Walkers' market-leading London office enjoys the distinction of being the only legal team in the City ranked as Tier 1 by both Chambers and Legal 500 for BVI and Cayman law advice.
In addition to expanding its legal and professional services headcount, Walkers has developed London-based global centres of excellence in risk and compliance, HR, technology and marketing and business development to support its global operations. This investment in infrastructure and support services is underpinning Walkers' success in winning new mandates and being sought after by leading corporates and institutions.
This is the latest in a series of investments by Walkers in its European offices. Walkers moved to new, larger premises in Guernsey this summer and will update its Jersey office in 2023. In 2018, the firm doubled its existing footprint in Ireland by moving to a larger, best-in-class premises with LEED gold standard energy efficiency located at the epicentre of Dublin's financial district.
