Walkers maintains Pre-Eminent ranking amongst offshore law firms in London

Walkers has once again maintained its position as the pre-eminent offshore law firm based in London, with Chambers & Partners maintaining its Tier 1 ranking for Walkers London based Cayman law team as well as its Tier 1 ranking for Walkers London based BVI law team.

This is in addition to the Tier 1 ranking for Walkers London based Bermuda, BVI and Cayman law teams as awarded by Legal 500 earlier this month.

Walkers numbers more Bermuda, BVI and Cayman law partners and fee-earners in London than any other offshore law firm; affording Walkers a significantly greater local time zone depth and resource across those laws than all others.  In order to accommodate continuing growth, Walkers will shortly move to expanded premises in a prestige landmark building in the City.

Client feedback quoted by Chambers in their latest independent legal guide underscores why the Walkers team stands apart from competitors, with referees citing: "they have the widest breadth of talent and experience in our key jurisdictions like Cayman and the BVI", "their service levels and responsiveness are exceptional", "they're extremely commercial in their approach and act as a good sounding board for discussions" and "they pre-empt client needs and always gauge the right approach".

Walkers' London managing partner Jack Boldarin (who stands alone in the market by retaining his personal Tier 1 rankings for both BVI and Cayman law in the new guide) said: "Maintaining these rankings year-on-year is an impressive achievement by a very committed group of talented people, and my colleagues can rightly be proud of how they are perceived by the market."

"It is particularly pleasing to see the direct quotes from our clients which really demonstrate how our commitment to excellence in client service and responsiveness enables us to build long-term partnerships with clients and referrers of work."

In the individual rankings, Neil McDonald maintains his ranking for BVI law, while John O'Driscoll, Tatziana Paraguacuto and Hughie Wong maintain their rankings for Cayman law.

Client feedback included the following:

  • Hughie Wong: "He is truly excellent. He is both commercial and technically strong".
  • Tatziana Paraguacuto: "She has a wealth of experience in funds and there is no area of Cayman Islands law she cannot articulate smartly on".
  • John O'Driscoll: "He has a deep understanding of the BVI and Cayman markets" and "he is a strong lawyer with both a commercial and legal focus.  He is also very user-friendly".
  • Neil McDonald: "He possesses an excellent level of responsiveness and commercial awareness" and "he is a pleasure to work with and he's always available to assist and support on transactions."
