Walkers is pleased to announce that its Global Asset Finance Group has landed a top 10 ranking in the annual Airfinance Journal Legal Survey 2021 (the "Survey"). As well as placing 10th overall, Walkers was ranked 2nd for Export Credit deals, 4th for Capital Markets and 5th for Middle East based transactions.
Sarah Humpleby, Cayman Islands partner commented: "This is a tremendous achievement for Walkers and one that highlights the top tier work on which we provide counsel. We are extremely grateful that our clients continue to put their faith in our team to support them in delivering the best possible business solutions."
Killian McSharry, partner in Walkers' Irish office added, "2021 was a busy year for our Global Asset Finance Group as the industry returned to pre-pandemic levels. We worked on a myriad of innovative financing and leasing deals for our clients, including joint ventures and ABS deals, and are thrilled for the Group to be recognised in the rankings."
Released in July, the Survey includes aviation finance deals based on submissions from law firms as well as Airfinance Journal’s Deal Tracker transactions. The deal list is used to select the most active law firms in the industry, which are then selected by region and product type. The legal survey reviews transactions for calendar year 2021 only.
Earlier this year, Walkers was also noted to have been involved in six award winning deals at the Airfinance Journal Awards and Airline Economics Awards 2022 with some deals recognised across multiple categories. Walkers also participated in four of the recently lauded transactions at the Ishka Awards including Best Capital Markets Deal 2021
