Walkers' Banking & Finance team in Guernsey advised Investec and ACIA Aero Leasing (“ACIA”), a leading regional aircraft leasing provider, on a $59 million revolving credit facility transaction that enabled ACIA to finance a fleet of 14 aircraft.
The team led by Group Partner Kim Paiva, which included associate Kgotso Matjila, advised on Guernsey law matters in relation to the financing and, in particular, on the security registrations on the Guernsey Aircraft Registry (2-Reg).
The matter was recognised by Airfinance Journal – one of the leading publications in aviation finance – for the innovative master facility structure that enabled the lessor to seize acquisition opportunities.
The AFJ Global Awards recognise excellence among market participants on deals across airline, lessor, and OEM financings in all regions around the world.
Kim said: "We feel very proud to have played a Guernsey role in such an innovative and award winning transaction and we congratulate Investec and ACIA and their teams on their well-deserved recognition."
"Our Global Aviation Finance team – including colleagues across Bermuda, Cayman and Ireland – have a proud track-record of being involved in innovative solutions for clients in the aviation space, including many "industry first" transactions and structure"
