Sam Burford-Yeo is an associate in Walkers' London Investment Funds Practice Group.
He advises on all matters relating to the structuring, launch, operation, restructuring and closure of Cayman Islands open-ended and closed-ended investment funds.
Sam has considerable experience advising with respect to liquidity control mechanics and associated restructurings. He has worked with Cayman Islands funds in both offshore and onshore capacities, and works directly with the leading onshore law firms in this sphere, as well as with leading service providers and asset managers.
Sam also advises on Cayman Islands law and regulation in respect of economic substance, beneficial ownership and data protection. He has advised extensively with regard to rules, policies, procedures and statements of guidance issued by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority with respect to mutual and private funds.
He also has particular expertise in audit requirements for funds throughout their life cycle.
