Hughie is co-head of our Investment Funds Practice Group in London.
He works with external counsel, investment managers and funds on setting up and launching investment funds, and their financing. He also specialises in all aspects of fund activity and regulation, as well as fund restructurings and distressed situations.
Hughie has more than 25 years’ experience in private practice, and advises clients on Cayman and British Virgin Islands’ law on hedge, private equity and venture capital funds, including digital assets and crypto-currency funds. He also helps them with their downstream corporate and financing matters, including structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory issues.
Hughie is recognised by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and Who's Who Legal for the quality of his advice.

Experience and recent work
Hughie trained and qualified at Slaughter and May in London, where he spent 13 years. He joined Walkers in 2008.
