Patriann Monteith

Patriann Monteith is an assistant vice president on the Compliance and Regulatory Services team at Walkers Professional Services in the Cayman Islands office.

She serves as an Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer, Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer on a broad range of investment funds and licenced entities. With nearly a decade of regulatory experience, she has a comprehensive working knowledge of the acts, regulations, regulatory requirements, rules and international standards related to the financial services industry. She has an adept understanding of the FATF Methodology and the application of the Mutual Funds Act, the Private Funds Act, the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations and Guidance Notes.

Experience and recent work

Prior to joining Walkers, Patriann worked with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority within the banking and investment funds sector. As a former regulator, Patriann has in depth regulatory knowledge by way of off-site and onsite inspection supervision of Category A and B Banks, Mutual Funds, Private Funds, directors of covered entities and licensees, Registered Persons and Mutual Fund Administrators. Patriann's most recent role was a Senior Analyst II within the Investments Supervision Division whereby she was responsible for the management and supervision of the ongoing monitoring of mutual fund administrators which included conducting risk assessments and the remediation of inspection findings.

Patriann also has experience in AML services having held a senior position with another professional service provider whereby she provided AMLCO, MLRO and DMLRO services to investment funds, registered persons and licenced entities.

Prior to specializing in AML services, Patriann was an Associate at an international financial service provider whereby she provided support to independent directors serving on boards of investment funds.
