The five new partners, 12 senior counsel and 12 corporate services professionals span the firm's market-leading practice groups and are based across the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The 17 partner and senior counsel promotions cover every practice area, reflecting the firm's balanced full service offering and strong client demand for each specialism. Two new partners and one senior counsel sit within the firm's fast growing Regulatory and Risk Advisory practice. Walkers is unique in its peer group to offer dedicated regulatory lawyers in each of its 10 offices, many of whom are former regulators.
The 12 senior promotions in the professional services division reflect increasing demand worldwide for registered office services, corporate administration and governance, regulatory compliance support and fiduciary services.
Ingrid Pierce, global managing partner for Walkers, said: "Congratulations to my colleagues on their well-deserved promotions. These appointments reflect the strong client demand for quality commercial advice around the world, around the clock. We're committed to developing talented people within our firm who broaden and deepen the expertise we offer our clients to support them with their biggest opportunities and challenges."
In total, Walkers is promoting more than 118 people across all grades and departments, including 18 senior business services team members. The firm expects to announce further senior promotions later this year subject to work permit and other regulatory approvals.
Over the past 12 months, Walkers has also hired eight partners, seven senior counsel and seven senior corporate services professionals from outside the firm, taking the overall number of partners to 150 and the total global workforce to more than 1,300.
