Gareth specialises in commercial disputes, particularly high-value cross-border shareholder disputes, and insolvency and restructuring.
He is a partner in the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dispute Resoution Group in Walkers' Singapore office.
With qualifications in three jurisdictions, he has advised on cases before the Cayman Islands Grand Court’s financial services division and the Commercial Court in the British Virgin Islands. He has also helped clients with offshore aspects of arbitrations on procedural issues and interim measures to be taken in the Cayman Islands and in the British Virgin Islands, as well as shareholder remedies.
Gareth’s clients include banks and financial institutions in debt recovery and enforcement cases. He has advised bank-appointed receivers defending fraud and negligence claims, and on interlocutory injunctive applications including springboard injunctions and freezing orders.
Gareth also has experience advising on corporate governance and contentious procedural matters relating to company meetings of offshore companies.

Experience and recent work
Gareth was previously a dispute resolution lawyer in an offshore law firm in Hong Kong. He was also a commercial litigation associate in the Dispute Resolution department of a top commercial law firm in Ireland, and in-house senior counsel for a global fintech company in Dublin.
