The financing was arranged by a consortium of financial institutions, including DBS Bank, Deutsche Bank, Global Infrastructure Partners (a part of BlackRock), HSBC, International Finance Corporation (IFC), ING, and Natixis CIB. This transaction reflects the confidence of global lenders in Yondr’s capability to deliver secure and reliable hyperscale data centres worldwide.
Located on a 72.5-acre site within the Sedenak Tech Park, the Johor data centre is set to provide 300MW of critical IT capacity once fully completed, making it the largest hyperscale data centre campus in Southeast Asia. The first phase of this project is progressing on schedule, with energisation achieved in March 2024. The data centre is expected to be ready for service next year.
Our team, led by partner Richard Siddle and senior counsel Gareth Lond, worked closely with Yondr's advisors, Clifford Chance Singapore and Rahmat Lim & Partners, as well as the consortium of lenders, represented by Milbank LLP Singapore and Zul Rafique & Partners.
With the demand for data centre capacity continues to rise, driven by advancements in artificial intelligence and digital services, this transaction highlights our expertise in advising on complex, cross-border developments in both the technology and infrastructure space. We are delighted to have contributed to this transformative project in Asia.
